It’s A Matter of Time

How often do we hear these statements:

  • I wish I had more time

  • If I could turn back time, I would…

  • If only I had one more minute…

  • If only I was younger…

  • If I could speak to that person again…

Where and when do we hear these statements?

  • We hear them usually from people in their dying beds.

  • When people notice the error of their choices and time.

  • When it’s too late to do anything about it.

  • When remorse and regret is all that is left from a life badly squandered in trivial and mundane activities.

There is a saying; “When you are young you sacrifice your health for wealth and when you are old you sacrifice your wealth for health.”
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe said “Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.”

4 most important family goals right now

Develop a sense of urgency for time for the things that matter most-

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

  • your wife/spouse-

Proverbs 31:11, 12 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.

  • Your children-

Psalm 127:3“Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.”

  • Your prayer life-

Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

  • Prioritize Time

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet[a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

When you wake up in the morning, and you are walking out of your house to go to work. Do you ever kiss your children and spouse in such a way that they will never doubt how much you love them?

Do you speak to them as if it’s the last time you will ever see them? Can they say with such certainty, my daddy loves me, my mommy loves me. My parents love me. I will never doubt their love for me.

If not…start today.
